The Springboks are back this weekend!

There are some things that never change, no matter how far from South Africa you find yourself.
The green and gold. The goosebumps during Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika. The nerves before kick-off. The messages flying through family group chats. And that unmistakable feeling that, for 80 minutes, everyone wearing a Springbok jersey is one big family.
Living in Australia doesn’t make us any less passionate. If anything, it makes those moments even more special.
Watching the Springboks has become a tradition in our home. Whether it’s an early morning Test match or a late-night Rugby Championship clash, you’ll find us gathered around the television, beer in hand (maybe coffee for those early morning games), cheering on the Boks as if we were sitting in Loftus or Ellis Park.
But there’s one thing we refuse to compromise on.
A Springbok game simply isn’t complete without biltong.
For South Africans, biltong is so much more than a snack. It’s part of our culture. It reminds us of weekends with family, rugby on the television, road trips, braais and celebrations with the people we love. It’s comfort, tradition and home - all wrapped into every slice.
That’s exactly why we make ours the way we do.
Using premium Australian beef and traditional South African methods, every batch of our biltong is carefully crafted to deliver the authentic flavour we grew up with. No shortcuts. No compromises. Just proper South African biltong made with the same care and craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations.
Every game day has its rituals.
The jersey comes out. Friends arrive. The platter gets filled with sliced biltong, droëwors and all the other favourites. Someone inevitably starts predicting the score. Someone else insists the referee is against us before the match has even begun.
And when the Springboks run onto the field, the biltong disappears almost as quickly as the first whistle blows.
We’ve been incredibly lucky to build a community of South Africans, and plenty of Australians, who now share that same tradition. We hear it every rugby season: customers stocking up before kick-off because they know the game just doesn’t feel right without proper biltong on the table.
It’s one of the greatest compliments we could ask for.
So wherever you’re watching from this season-Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne or anywhere else across Australia, we hope there’s a bag of our biltong within arms reach.
Because great rugby deserves great biltong.
Go Bokke! 🇿🇦
